Gerald Celente, a Very Early Backer of a Kennedy Presidential Run, Withdraws Support due to Kennedy’s Israel War Position

undefined

Back in December of 2022, virtually nobody was even thinking of the possibility that Rober F. Kennedy, Jr. may run in the 2024 presidential race. One of the few individuals who was thinking of this possibility was political commentor and trends forecaster Gerald Celente. Speaking with host David Knight at the David Knight Show, Celente then not only mentioned the possibility, he enthusiastically recommended that Kennedy run with legal scholar Andrew Napolitano, a former New Jersey state judge, as his vice president  running mate.

Four months later, Kennedy announced his decision to seek the presidency in a speech that included some strong expression of antiwar sentiment. That expression of sentiment would appeal to Celente, a peace advocate who has hosted peace rallies in Kingston, New York, where Celente’s trends forecasting operation is located.

Come October, though, Kennedy made clear that so far as Israel goes he would not be a noninterventionist president. Instead, he would back the Israel government to the hilt in its pursuit of its new war.

This followed Kennedy in a July interview with Schmuley Boteach making clear that he is a big booster of Israel and declaring that he would try as a candidate “to bring the Democratic Party back to its traditional support of Israel and to explain to my children’s generation the historical context and the moral case for Israel.”

Later in the week, Kennedy wrote the following at Twitter: “As President, my support of Israel will be unconditional.” No reasonable person after seeing that declaration would have hope that Kennedy supports seeking peace across-the-board. But, hope at least could be held out that Kennedy’s unconditional support for Israel would not materialize as support for war because Israel could remain relatively at peace. That last bit of hope was dashed in October after a Hamas attack on Israel and Israel’s ensuing, and ongoing, massive military attack on Gaza.

Indeed, on October 7 — the day of the Hamas attack — Kennedy immediately proclaimed at Twitter that as president he would be absolutely committed to supporting the Israel government in its new war effort, stating:
This ignominious, unprovoked, and barbaric attack on Israel must be met with world condemnation and unequivocal support for the Jewish state’s right to self-defense. We must provide Israel with whatever it needs to defend itself — now. As President, I’ll make sure that our policy is unambiguous so that the enemies of Israel will think long and hard before attempting aggression of any kind.

I applaud the strong statements of support from the Biden White House for Israel in her hour of need. However, the scale of these attacks means it is likely that Israel will need to wage a sustained military campaign to protect its citizens. Statements of support are fine, but we must follow through with unwavering, resolute, and practical action. America must stand by our ally throughout this operation and beyond as it exercises its sovereign right to self-defense.
Thus we come to Celente, an early and enthusiastic supporter of a Kennedy run, commenting on Wednesday, in his weekly video discussion with Andrew Napolitano, that he no longer supports Kennedy becoming president. “As you well know, I was a huge supporter of RFK Jr. because I believed that he was pro-peace and antiwar,” said Celente early in the discussion. Responding, Napolitano, who is an Advisory Board member for the Ron Paul Institute, confirmed, “he was, he was — at the time that you and I communicated with him — he was the champion of pro-peace and antiwar, and, then. after the Hamas attack to Israel, he did a 180 and now supports the genocide that the Israeli military is perpetrating on the Palestinian people in Gaza.”

Watch here Celente and Napolitano’s full discussion, which also includes Napolitano describing his exchange of texts with Kennedy about Kennedy’s Israel war position and Celente proposing that Napolitano now run for president:

Congress Members Ask President Biden to Stop the Effort to Prosecute Julian Assange

undefined

On October 26, I wrote about United States House of Representatives members Jim McGovern (D-MA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) gathering signatures from other House members for a letter to President Joe Biden. The letter asks the president to drop both the US government’s requested extradition and its ongoing prosecution efforts in regard to Julian Assange of WikiLeaks.

Here is an update. This week, Massie and McGovern, along with 13 additional representatives and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), sent the letter to Biden. The letter concludes with the following statement that addresses how the matter of Assange’s prosecution has importance beyond the fate of one man:
It is the duty of journalists to seek out sources, including documentary evidence, in order to report to the public on the activities of government. The United States must not pursue an unnecessary prosecution that risks criminalizing common journalistic practices and thus chilling the work of the free press. We urge you to ensure that this case be brought to a close in as timely a manner as possible.
Hopefully the letter will do some good. Read the letter and the list of cosigners here.

‘The Crime’: A Powerful Song About Despicable Actions Taken in the Name of Countering Coronavirus

The song “The Crime” performed by Jim Scott provides a powerful relating of multiple dimensions of the despicable actions people have taken in the name of countering coronavirus. From lockdowns to the dangerous and ineffective coronavirus “vaccine” shots, “The Crime” recounts sordid details of inhumanity in coronavirus crackdowns undertaken with media complicity.

How they sold it on the news. We were victims of a ruse.
Politicians rushed it through. But whose agenda did they use?
Lock ‘em down. Lock ‘em out.
They’ll be begging for a shot without a doubt.
Hit ‘em hard. Cause ‘em pain.
Knock them so far down they’ll never rise again.

Those are some of the lyrics from early in the song.

In the song’s conclusion, the lyrics question if the criminal perpetrators will ever “make amends.”

The song is not just powerful because of the lyrics. It is also powerful because of the great musical quality Scott brings to it with his singing and guitar playing.

You can watch Scott’s October 23 performance of “The Crime” at Lake Liddell in Australia here:

Tulsi Gabbard’s Warmongering is Nothing New

undefined

Some people are expressing surprise about the warmongering comments Tulsi Gabbard has been making in regard to the Israel war that has been ramping up over the last few weeks.

I thought she was for peace; how can she be saying this? That’s what some people are asking when discovering the recent comments of Gabbard who had worked hard to portray herself in the 2020 presidential election as the candidate for voters favoring peace.

The recent comments by Gabbard that have surprised people include this statement at Twitter on October 9, two days after the Hamas attack that sparked the new war:
The United States must stand with Israel in the face of this terror attack by the Islamist terrorist group Hamas. This is just the latest example of the greater war being waged by both Sunni and Shia Islamist jihadists throughout the world. This should be a wakeup call to leaders everywhere that Islamist jihadists are the greatest short and long-term threat to the safety, security, and freedom of the American people, and people throughout the world.
Saying the United States must “stand with Israel” is a shorthand expression politicians in Washington, DC routinely use to declare that they support the United States government providing whatever aid Israel requests to pursue Israel’s “national security” related objectives. Indeed, Gabbard, a former member of the US House of Representatives, mentioned this week in a Fox News interview with host Laura Ingraham that House members can demonstrate they “stand with Israel” by voting to provide Israel with the roughly 14 billion dollars in aid for Israel’s war effort that was then under consideration in the legislative body.

The House on Thursday approved legislation, HR 6126, to provide this aid. (This money will supplement the billions the US already doles to Israel yearly.) As Gabbard would put it, the House “stood with Israel.”

While Gabbard’s support for the US jumping in to help Israel pursue its new war is surprising to some people, it is in line with a warning I provided in February of 2019 — two weeks into her presidential run. Here is what I stated then:
In 2015, Gabbard spoke regarding foreign policy in her speech at a Christians United for Israel conference. Comments in that speech suggest Gabbard’s foreign policy may be more interventionist than that of President Donald Trump. In comparison with Trump, Gabbard seems in that speech as antagonistic toward Iran, at least as devoted to Israel, more devoted to the Kurds, and much more devoted to the "they attack us because we are free" perspective on terrorism that has been at the heart of the Global War on Terror.
Check out Gabbard’s speech I mentioned here. It is an eye-opener for people who had fallen for the Tulsi Gabbard is an antiwar presidential candidate charade.

Americans Are Not Supporting the US Sending Weapons to Israel

undefined

President Joe Biden is proposing 14 billion dollars in United States aid to Israel that is pursuing its new war — a 40 percent increase over what the Israel government requested earlier this week. Meanwhile, a new poll indicates the majority of Americans are refusing to line up in support of this latest American war effort.

A CBS/YouGov poll conducted this week asked whether four different US actions should be taken now in regard to “the situation with Israel and Hamas.” In response to one of the queries, 52 percent of polled individuals said they opposed the US government “sending weapons and supplies to Israel.”

This majority opposition is particularly impressive considering that the polled individuals tended to indicate that they are more sympathetic to Israelis than to Palestinians. In “the current conflict,” 51 percent of respondents said they sympathize “a lot” with the Israeli people, while 33 percent said they sympathize “somewhat” with the Israeli people. Sympathy for the Palestinian people in the current conflict came in substantially lower, with the “a lot” answer at 28 percent and the “somewhat” answer at 37 percent.

Majority support was uncovered in the poll for the three other US government actions queried: 72 percent for engaging “in diplomacy with countries in the region,” 76 percent for sending “humanitarian aid to Israel,” and 57 percent for sending “humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza.”

Don’t believe the hype that this new US war commitment being pushed on the American people by politicians is very popular. It is not. And don’t believe the hype that opponents of this new US war commitment are all desiring to harm Israeli or Jewish people. They are not. Those claims are unfounded propaganda that is regularly deployed to cow Americans to acquiesce in the entry of the US government into its next major horrific foreign intervention.

Congress Worked on a Two Billion Dollars Aid Bill for Israel. The Israel Government Says, ‘Nah, Make it Ten Billion.’

undefined

Over the last year and a half, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky kept himself busy repeatedly demanding more money, supplies, and weapons from the United States and other governments to pay for Ukraine’s war against Russia. No matter how much was given, he never accepted it as enough. More, more, more aid, he constantly demanded.

It looks like the Israel government is starting off in its new war on the same course of aid demands as the Ukraine government has pursued.

Last week, word was legislation was in the works in the United States Congress to provide around two billion dollars in supplementary funding to the Israel government to support its activities in its new war. Instead of just expressing thanks and waiting for the money to start flowing in, with Zelensky-level audacity the Israel government is reported to have asked the US government to provide instead five times that amount — ten billion dollars.

Hey, don’t worry, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in a Monday Sky News interview that the US government can “certainly afford to stand with Israel and to support Israel’s military needs, and we also can and must support Ukraine in its struggle against Russia.” Come on, Secretary Yellen, can’t you show some gusto like the Israel government and up that from two to ten wars?

Ron Paul and Andrew Napolitano Discuss War in the Middle East

Andrew Napolitano has done a great job helping people become informed about developments in the Ukraine War through his interviews with guests with pertinent knowledge and insights, including Douglas Macgregor, Ray McGovern, and Scott Ritter. As war builds in the Middle East after the Hamas attack of last week, Napolitano has been providing a similarly valuable service in presenting information about this new war.

On Tuesday, as part of his new focus on the new war, Napolitano interviewed Ron Paul, who Napolitano introduced as “the gold standard in American modern political history for limited government, maximum individual liberty, economic prosperity, and peace.”

Watch Napolitano’s interview of Paul here:

Voices for Peace Help Crack War Propaganda

undefined

Over the last week, most United States Congress members have rushed out to proclaim to all their commitment to “stand with Israel,” many of them adding that they want the US to support the Israel government in doing whatever it decides to do in pursuing war in response to last week’s Hamas attack. And the early action by the Israel government indicates that what it seeks is, at minimum, decimation in Gaza.

Among Israelis, though, there is substantial opposition to the Israel government pursuing the all-out war path. Even among relatives of individuals killed and taken as hostages in the Hamas attack there are individuals who express sorrow in regard to the horror that Israel military action is causing and who support seeking peace.

In a series of thee Twitter posts, journalist Glenn Greenwald presented on Tuesday comments from three individuals — all with relatives either missing after or killed or taken as hostages in the Hamas attack — who dissent from indiscriminate cheering on of Israel pursing war. The perspective a quick listen to and read of the comments provides can help Americans see through the barrage of pro-war propaganda to which they have been subjected by American politicians and American media. See Greenwald’s posts here.

Donald Trump Sings in the Stand with Israel Chorus

undefined

On Saturday, Donald Trump stood out among Republican presidential candidates when he offered an initial statement that was relatively noninterventionist in reaction to the Hamas attack that occurred that day. But, later on Saturday, Trump, speaking at a campaign event in Waterloo, Iowa, confirmed that he, just like the rest of the field, is committed to advancing the United States government supporting Israel in the rising conflict.

At the campaign rally Trump commented:
The Hamas terrorist invasion of Israel territory, Israeli territory, and the murder of Israeli soldiers today and the brutal murder of citizens is an act of savagery that must and will be crushed — has to be, it has to be dealt with very powerfully. This is a time where the United States needs leadership. We don’t have leadership. But, Israel is at war, and the United States obviously is going to stick with Israel, and strongly.
Oh well, it took less than 24 hours for Trump to shut the door on a noninterventionist approach. In this important area of foreign policy, Trump is failing to live up to his apparent effort to run as the peace candidate in the Republican presidential primary.

California Law to Punish Doctors Who Dissent from Coronavirus Party Line Repealed

undefined

On October 1 of last year, I wrote about California Governor Gavin Newsom having signed into law the previous day AB 2098, legislation I described as telling “the state’s medical boards to punish doctors who challenge the coronavirus orthodoxy.”

Here is an update.

On September 30 of this year, exactly a year after signing AB 2098 into law, Newsome signed into law new legislation (SB 815) that includes among its provisions the repeal of AB 2098.

George Washington University Law School Professor Jonathan Turley provided in a Saturday article details regarding the repeal of AB 2098, which Turley refers to as “California’s unconstitutional Covid gag law for physicians and other medical professionals.” The repeal, Turley suggested, is motivated by the prospect of judicial determination striking down the speech restricting law. Turley also addressed in his article how repeal was accomplished surreptitiously, with no peep heard about the repeal from Newsom who had signed the original bill into law, state legislators who had sponsored it, or the California Medical Association that had pushed for its enactment. You can read Turley’s report here.

As Conflict Rises in Israel, Donald Trump Offers a Relatively Noninterventionist Reaction among Republican Presidential Candidates

undefined

In response to a Saturday attack by Hamas in Israel, Republican Party presidential candidates rushed out statements setting forth their related views. Among these statements, the statement of Donald Trump stood out as relatively noninterventionist.

While placing blame on Hamas, Trump refrained from promising support for the government of Israel in the conflict. This set him apart from the other prominent Republican candidates who made comments pledging support for Israel.

Here is Trump’s Saturday statement on the matter:
These Hamas attacks are a disgrace and Israel has every right to defend itself with overwhelming force. Sadly, American taxpayer dollars helped fund these attacks, which many reports are saying came from the Biden Administration. We brought so much peace to the Middle East through the Abraham Accords, only to see Biden whittle it away at a far more rapid pace than anyone thought possible. Here we go again.
So far so good. Trump is not endorsing in his statement the United States government supporting the Israel government in this conflict. But, there certainly is much pressure on him to make such an endorsement soon.

Other Republican presidential candidates, in contrast, jumped immediately at the opportunity to declare their support for aiding Israel in this new rising conflict. Tara Suter reported Saturday at The Hill on other prominent Republican candidates’ early statements on the matter. Every one of them took a step beyond Trump, pledging their support to the Israel government in the rising conflict.

Below are excerpts from those candidates’ statements presented in Suter’s article.

Doug Burgum: “Iran and its terror sponsors in Gaza are showing the world their true face: pure evil. Israel is at war with brutal terrorists and the United States must provide maximum support to our democratic ally.”

Chris Christie: “We must do whatever it takes to support the State of Israel in its time of grave danger, and we must end the scourge of Iran-backed terrorism.”

Ron DeSantis: “Israel not only has the right to defend itself against these attacks, it has a duty to respond with overwhelming force. I stand with Israel. America must stand with Israel.”

Nikki Haley: “Israel has every right to defend its citizens from terror. We must always stand with Israel and against this Iranian regime.”

Mike Pence: “Our prayers are with the families and soldiers of our most cherished ally. @netanyahu [Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu)] says Israel is ‘at war’ America Stands With Israel[.]”

Vivek Ramaswamy: “Israel’s right to exist & defend itself should never be doubted and Iran-backed Hamas & Hezbollah cannot be allowed to prevail. I stand with Israel and the U.S. should too.”

Tim Scott: “Israel has a right to defend itself and the United States must stand in support of its steadfast ally.”

Can Trump continue to resist the pressure being put on him to declare that he does, and the US government should, “stand with Israel” in regard to this rising conflict? We’ll see. Taking a solitary course concerning this matter would be consistent with Trump’s apparent effort to run as the peace candidate among the contenders in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

The Libertarian Party Chairman’s Underwhelming Case for the Party Leadership’s Success

undefined

Last week, I wrote about how the United States Libertarian Party’s new leadership put in place by delegates at the party’s May of 2022 national convention has through the November of 2024 general election to demonstrate its success through election results. It seems that the party’s chairman has a different take.

In April, Libertarian National Committee Chairman Angela McArdle posted at Twitter a tweet that remains pinned to the top of her Twitter page. Though the tweet was written months before I wrote about the party’s leadership, it looks like a response. Maybe McArdle has been hearing from many people concerned that party leadership may be off track. Here is what she wrote in the tweet in entirety:
How is the Libertarian Party doing lately? We're working hard and doing great. Thanks for asking.
Of course, that statement is just assertion. But, there is promise of backing information for that assertion in the form of a video included below the text.

When you watch the brief video, however, persuasive backing is fully absent. You might expect talk of success in campaigns that were completed since the new leadership took control, as well as about the promise of ongoing campaigns. Campaigns, however, received no mention. Instead, the talk is about (1) how bad the old leadership was, (2) how the new leadership is presenting better ideas to the public and party members than did the old leadership, and (3) how the new leadership has “been working diligently on fixing our internal processes, fine-tuning our project management, and understanding our priorities.”

All three of these things talked about in the video are of little significance in judging the success or failure of leadership of the party. The old leadership is long gone. Complaining about it and blaming it becomes less relevant by the day. Assuming the new leadership is presenting better ideas, that is nice but also a pretty minimal achievement that does not do much to advance election campaigns and can even inhibit them if the leadership becomes obsessed with advancing messages directly at the cost of neglecting advancing campaigns. Fixing how the party works behind the scenes is also nice, but at some point even a well-oiled machine that does not perform the work for which it is intended should be scrapped.

Put Up Time for the National Libertarian Party Leadership

undefined

Reasonable people will look at Libertarian Party candidates’ election results — votes largely, but also the nature of attention obtained — through the November 2024 general election to judge if the new leadership of the national Libertarian Party has succeeded or failed.

The new leadership, put in place in May of 2022 by delegates at the Libertarian Party’s national convention, so far has seemed most focused on communicating in social media, helping put on an antiwar rally in Washington, DC, and urging officeholders from other parties to vote a certain way. Whatever success is achieved from these three endeavors can be expected to be viewed as largely beside the point by many people whose aid is important for the party’s functioning. Much else may be happening behind the scenes, though. Political parties are uniquely about candidates and campaigns, and it is mostly by the performance of candidates and campaigns that most people can be expected to assess a political party’s achievement or lack thereof.

The November 2022 general election — occurring less than half a year after the new leadership took charge — was too soon to pin on the new leadership. In contrast, the two years later November 2024 general election is all theirs, assuming they stay in charge through that election.

Has the party leadership been taking actions that will lead to impressive campaign results through 2024? We’ll have to wait and see. Without such results that are easily communicable and discernable, you can expect volunteer and monetary support for national party activities to slacken. The party leadership should be ready to be judged by this old, familiar standard: “Put up or shut up.”

Reject Masks and Mask Mandates Says the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons

undefined

You may have expected that by now all the mask pushers would have presented their mea culpas. But, some of them still cling to and bluster on about quack assertions that wearing masks is important for stopping the spread of coronavirus, as well as totally safe.

Anthony Fauci, the United States government’s former chief coronavirus fearmonger, is among these “wear your mask” diehards. Earlier this month, he was still advising that people wear masks to counter the threat of coronavirus despite the continually growing mountain of evidence that this course is both ineffective in achieving the stated objective and dangerous to one’s health.

With many individuals working in government, media, and medicine trying to stir up fear of new “variants” of coronavirus, expect more calls to “mask up” — as the American Medical Association puts it — and even the imposition of new mask mandates.

In their effort to protect freedom and health in the face of new pressure to wear masks, individuals can look to a statement issued Tuesday by the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) for succinct information countering the “wear your mask” demand.

The AAPS statement lays out quickly and clearly that masks threaten multiple medical problems for wearers and fail at preventing the spread of coronavirus. The statement further argues that mask mandates are intolerable because they violate the fundamental medical principle of informed consent. And the statement provides links to supporting evidence.

The AAPS statement concludes with the following:
As masking mandates are contrary to the fundamental medical principle of informed consent, all masking mandates currently in place must be rescinded, and no future mandates should be imposed.

Furthermore, since masking mandates for viral illnesses provide no clear benefits, while creating potential for harm, individuals should be empowered to choose to not observe such mandates that are either currently in existence or that may be imposed in the future.
Read the AAPS statement here.

Ron Paul at The Duran Discusses Nonintervention and the Military-Industrial Complex

Many supporters of the United States pursuing a foreign policy of nonintervention have benefited from information and insights presented at The Duran regarding developments around the world.

A recent The Duran episode is one not to be missed for these individuals, with prominent nonintervention proponent Paul joining hosts Glenn Diesen and Alexander Mercouris in discussing topics including both the noninterventionist US foreign policy supported by American Founders and the military-industrial complex.

Drug Enforcement Administration to Consider Marijuana Rescheduling

undefined

Back in April of 2016, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) informed members of the United States Congress that the DEA hoped to release in the first half of that year its determination of whether marijuana should be moved from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act to another schedule. Such rescheduling could result in a curtailment of aspects of the US government’s war on marijuana. Come August of 2016, the DEA announced it had decided marijuana should be left in Schedule I — the category for which the greatest drug war restrictions and penalties apply.

Here we go again. On Friday, Riley Griffin reported at Bloomberg that the DEA will be initiating another review of marijuana’s presence in Schedule I after receiving an August 29 letter from the Department of Health and Human Services recommending moving marijuana to Schedule III. We’ll have to wait and see if this review, unlike the previous one, leads to a schedule change.

All the while, despite approval of marijuana legalization being the majority view among Americans — be they Democrats, Republicans, or neither — Congress leadership has year after year refused to hold a vote on simple, straightforward legislation to end the US government’s war on marijuana and leave marijuana policy to state and local governments that continue to liberalize marijuana laws. This has been the case under both Republican leadership that blocked the consideration of legalization and Democratic leadership that backed exclusively legalization legislation including extraneous provisions that ensured the legislation would not gain approval.

American marijuana legalization can provide a much bigger gain for freedom than can shifting marijuana among the Controlled Substances Act schedules.

Keep in mind that the majority of American voters — and the majority of the subgroups of Republican, Democratic, and other voters — have supported marijuana legalization. In October of 2017, looking at such support for legalization in polling, I commented that I would not be surprised if the US government legalized marijuana within five years. Next month will be six years since I made that comment. Oh well. The US government has an impressive ability to resist taking actions favorable to freedom, even when such actions have broad-based public support.
